Big bills

Kenny and I never carry cash. We use our Debit card for EVERYTHING!! If we are going somewhere that we need cash, we stop at the ATM, pull out how much we need and nothing more. If there is more than $20.00 left in our pockets, we deposit it so we don't spend it willy nilly

We are lucky enough to be able to have lunch together most business days. We pack our lunches and sit on a shady street. Eating lunch together is one of my favorite parts of my work day.

A few years ago, we became more focused on our "diets". For the most part, it is "protein" bars, whole fruits and vegetables, organic and low fat/calorie items. We allow ourselves to vary from it a few meals a week and don't stress about it when we do. Because of this switch, we have both been able to become more healthy and fit. We are more energetic and happier as a whole. We have also been able to manage my PCOS and Ken's Gout which is no easy task!

Since we have such strict diets, our treats have become much more simple. We actually look forward to going to Maverick a few times a week and getting a fountain beverage. We normally use our debit card there. We put our $3.00 beverages on the debit card and don't think twice about it. Some think it is silly to use it for such a small amount, but it works for us.

Last week, we were at lunch, discussing whether or not we should go get a beverage. Ken said "I have a big bill and it is burning a hole in my pocket". We had a busy weekend (bees game, family reunion, arts festival) but I didn't remember pulling out more than a $20.00. Is a $20.00 bill a big bill?? He saw my puzzled look and opened his wallet. There was a nice, new crisp $5.00 bill. Yes, you read it right $5.00. How sad is it that to us, anything over a $1.00 has become a "big bill"?!?!?!?

  1. You two are so cute. You both look amazing and I'm always jealous of your hard work to get amazing! I've always thought you were amazing though. :) I'm totally crackin' up about a big $5! That's awesome. Sadly, we can relate. Debit is the way to go! Hopefully you got your fountain drinks and that fiver is no longer burning up Ken's pocket!
