Whirl Wind Weekend!

What a crazy weekend last weekend was. I was so busy cooking and spending time with family that I forgot to take pictures. Sorry everyone.

Everything started when my Sweet Aunt Diane offered to do a shower for us on the 17th. Before I knew it, Krystal was coming into town with J, Katie was coming with the girls and all were staying with us! Hooray! i love to have a full house. We also tried to do a N.A.K.E.D get together that same time frame but Daphne wasn't able to make it. We got together anyways.

I was so excited I planned meals for an army! Jenny was kind enough to let me have Friday off so I could prepare the house and do food prep. I was up at 6am getting as much done ahead of time as possible so we could all just sit and enjoy each other's company.

Katie and the girls arrived Friday around 4:00. Krystal and J got there around 5:20. We all had dinner (stuffed chicken breast, baked potatoes, spinach salad), dessert (chocolate and berries truffle), and caught up a bit. The girls were nice enough to let me help them bathe. We even turned on the Jets!! They LOVED that!

Mom came over in the morning to join us for breakfast (quiche, hash browns and cantaloupe). After breakfast Krystal and Mom went shopping while the rest of us hung out, cleaned up and got ready for the shower. Little ivy was having so much fun playing with her Mom and sisters downstairs. You could hear her cute voice/squeal all the way upstairs! She sure is a cutie and has quite the personality.

Off to the shower we all went. It was great to see Aunt Diane's new house and catch up with the family. We have gotten so big! Well, the family started out pretty big with 23 cousins. Now add husbands/wives and kids and you can imagine the numbers. Aunt Diane was so sweet to throw us a shower and have everyone at her home. She has such a big heart.

After the shower Eric's family joined us at the house for some hang out time and dinner. Gin loved playing with the girls. Some of them even went out back with her and played chase. Later in the afternoon Gin walked over to where some of them had been playing with the sidewalk chalk. She sat right in the middle of it! She was so cute!! He entire hind quarters were covered in pink and green chalk. I though she was rainbow bright for a bit!

Everyone left that night except for Krys and J. It was nice to have some downtime with them and really get to know them. I am so glad they came to town for this. They are a great couple.

Sunday morning, Krys and J left around 7 am. Ken and I got ready and headed into Sugarhouse for a Birthday Brunch for Amanda. yummy Brunch!!! This is a Kirkman family tradition. We usually hit brunch/dinner for the Kirkman birthdays. I look forward to it every time. Always good food and the company is excellent.

Later we went to Amanda and Wade's place to celebrate Taylor's 1st birthday. Man, this year has gone by quickly!!! Taylor is such a cutie. she loved having her own little cake to eat. Of course, she loved the roses on top the most. She got it all over her face, arms and hands. She even got a little down her legs. What a cutie!!!

To finish it all off, we went to our friend John and Steve's for dinner. There were 8 of us all eating Mexican food on their deck. I love dinners with John and Steve. it isn't a quick eat and go. No, you eat for 3 hours! That sounds like a lot of food but it isn't. They time everything so well. We just sit and chat and eat a bit, then chat, then eat, before you know it you have been at the table for 3 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. What a great way to end the weekend.

It was an exhausting weekend but I loved it!! It was great to see so much family and friends. To top it off, when I woke up Monday morning, i had a voicemail from Lamont. He rolled another 300 game!!!!

What a great time!!
